Welcome to FriYAY: Relaxation Edition. It might be an understatement to say that 2020 has been a bit stressful so far. Okay, it’s definitely an understatement. So this week, we decided to focus on putting the mind at ease. We’ve brought together a few of our most relaxing essential oils to help you achieve a calm, peaceful mindset. This FriYAY, let’s all just take a minute to unwind.
Blue Cypresshas a distinct scent profile of balsam, wood, and smoke. It is known to have a grounding, “fixative” effect on the mind. When diffused, this essential oil promotes a healthy respiratory system and helps to instill a calm, soothing atmosphere. It truly is ideal for use during stressful situations. This essential oil is also a great topical choice when it comes to irritated or blemish-prone skin. Plus it works quickly as a soothing solution for bug bites and minor wounds. For that, you should use a dilution of up to 3% with acarrier oil.
You might be surprised to hear that the Blue Cypress is the only blue essential oil that is made from wood via steam distillation. All other blue essential oils are made exclusively from flowers.
How to Use
Diffuse 3-4 drops per 100 mL of water in your diffuser. For topical use, dilute to 1-3% in your favorite carrier oil or lotion.
*This oil is thick and tenacious and might solidify in colder temperatures. Put it in a resealable plastic bag and let it sit in warm water for about ten minutes to help soften it up.
